Health Care Directive

A Health Care Directive or Living Will, is an important document for any individual over the age of 16 and should be obtained to plan for your future.

It provides instructions on how you would like to be treated if you lose your capacity to make decisions about health care and who is empowered to make decisions for you if you can no longer make your own health care decisions.

It is important to be aware the appointing a person under a power of attorney to deal with your personal affairs does not grant that person authority to act on your behalf if you are unable to make medical decisions.

Individual circumstances can vary significantly, it is strongly advisedthat you speak with a qualified Estate Law lawyer at an early stage. In an initial consultation at MacKay and McLean, you will receive a complete, general orientation as to the legal, practical and personal implications of your specific circumstances.

Laugh and the World Laughs...

Q: What do you call a lawyer gone bad?

A: "Your honor."
